Denim Bento Bag Workshop
Your old jeans just got a promotion.
Got a pair of jeans that have lived a full life? Knees blown out, hems frayed, stories stitched into every seam? Perfect. They’re ready for their next chapter.
In this workshop, we’re turning tired denim into a clever, reusable bento-style bag. No zips. No fuss. Just a beautifully simple design that folds, flops, and carries your goodies like a pro.
It’s part sewing session, part treasure hunt, part “why didn’t I do this sooner?”
Why you’ll love this
This is the kind of project that ticks all the boxes:
• Sustainable without being smug
• Practical enough to use every week
• Creative without being overwhelming
• And just the right amount of “look what I made” energy
Plus, denim is wonderfully forgiving. It hides wobbles, softens with use, and already comes with built-in character. Every bag ends up completely unique, like a fingerprint with pockets.

-
The confidence to rescue more textiles from the “rag pile”
-
A project you can easily recreate at home
Please bring along a pair (or two) of old jeans. The more interesting the wear, the better.
This isn’t just about making a bag. It’s about shifting how you see materials.
Those jeans you couldn’t bear to throw out? They become something useful again. Something you’ll actually carry. Groceries, sewing projects, library books, snacks for the car… this bag will earn its keep.
And every time you use it, you’ll know exactly where it came from.
Less waste. More creativity. And a bag with better stories than anything you’ll find in a shop.
Not bad for a pair of old jeans. 👖✂️🧵
