A four-week journey from fabric to finished quilt
Have you always wanted to make a quilt but felt overwhelmed by where to start, how much fabric to cut, or how all those layers magically come together? The Homestead Quilt Workshop is your gentle, guided answer.
Over four relaxed and supportive sessions, you’ll move step-by-step through the entire quilting process. No rushing, no guessing, no half-finished projects left folded in a bag. Just steady progress, clear instruction, and the quiet joy of watching your quilt grow under your hands.
If you’ve ever loved the idea of quilting but felt intimidated by the process, the tools, or the sheer number of steps, this workshop gently removes those barriers. You’ll learn how to break quilting down into manageable pieces and enjoy the process as much as the result.
By the end of the four weeks, you won’t just understand quilting. You’ll own the process.
Why this workshop matters
Quilts are stories you can wrap yourself in. Learning to make one properly means you’re no longer relying on patterns you don’t understand or tutorials that skip the tricky bits. You’ll know how to choose fabrics that work together, how to piece accurately, and how to finish your quilt so it lasts for years, not seasons.
This is slow stitching with purpose. Time carved out for you. Skills you’ll return to again and again.
What you’ll learn
Over the four weeks, you’ll be guided through:
-
Cutting fabric accurately and confidently
-
Understanding quilt layouts and block construction
-
Piecing your quilt top with neat seams and alignment
-
Preparing and layering your quilt for quilting
-
Quilting techniques suitable for home machines
-
Binding your quilt for a polished, professional finish
-
Troubleshooting common quilting mistakes before they become problems
What you’ll get
-
Four weeks of structured, hands-on tuition

Clear demonstrations and individual guidance
-
Supportive, small-group learning environment
-
The confidence to start and finish future quilts independently
-
A quilt in progress that you’ll be proud to keep stitching at home
